Food on the Run 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

EVENT OVERVIEW

Welcome to the inaugural FOOD ON THE RUN Charity Event benefitting Calvary Church’s Community Cupboard. By your participation, you will be supporting a community effort that feeds 2000+ people each week.

Now located on the new Calvary Mission Center site on College Ave. Ruskin, the Cupboard has been in existence for 35 years. Learn more about the Cupboard, the associated Angel Attic; and about how else you can serve and help change the lives of others!

Enjoy these beautiful 5K and 1 Mile paved courses as they wind their way through the wooded E.G. Simmons Park on the banks of Tampa Bay in the growing Southshore of Hillsborough County.

Whether a first time runner or preparing for the Fall race season, there is a place for you here. Be inspired by music and local cheer squads! Meet new friends!

The 5K starts promptly at 8:00am and will be chip timed by TRC Race Management.

There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk immediately following the 5K.

Virtual Supporters: For those who want to participate in the fun where ever you are, but can't make this race: Register here. Then run/walk a 5K at the location of your choice OR from your armchair with morning coffee! Receive a sponsorship certificate.

Come out and join us for a great late September run as we rush into the peak running season. Bring your bathing suit and stay for the day after the post race party.

ENTRY FEES

5K Thru September 23rd: $25.00

5K September 24th - 29th: $30.00

5K day of race: $35.00

5K ages 5-14: $20.00

1 Mile: $15.00

1 Mile ages 5-14: $10.00

Virtual runners: $25.00

Registration includes: 5K registrants will receive a soft sided, insulated cooler bag. Overall Awards: Top Male & Top Female 5K Finishers as well as top three males and females in each of 10 age groups. 1 mile race will receive finisher medals. All are welcome at the Post Race Party!

Sponsorships are available.

Water provided on the course.

Donate a used pair of running shoes for an additional door prize ticket! These will be given to Community Cupboard clients in need.

Park Entry Fee: $2.00 per car. Park opens at 6:30a.m.

Large, Covered Pavilion. Restrooms and parking close to start line.

IN PERSON REGISTRATION will be available any time at the Running Center (14427 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa) and at Calvary Lutheran Church (see address below) from 12 noon to 7 pm on September 29th AND at the E.G. Simmons Park on race day (September 30th) starting at 7:00 AM until 15 minutes prior to the race start.

PACKET PICK UP: Available at Calvary Lutheran Church on US Hwy 41 N, Apollo Beach (5309 US 41 N) from 12 noon to 7 pm on September 29th and at the registration table prior to the race.

It is advised that you pick up your packet early to make race day go a bit easier.

Refund Policy: There are no refunds, transfers or credits for this race.

This event will be held rain or shine. However, the event management reserves the right in the event of inclement weather, emergency, or natural disaster to cancel the race.
